Greywacke Wild Sauvignon Blanc, 2010

By in Wines with 0 Comments

Probably the most impressive Sauvignon Blanc in New Zealand!

Kevin Judd (former head vintner at the famous Cloudy Bay and a brilliant photographer) realises his dream and creates a wine exactly as he had imagined it.

Dry white wine.

From the Sauvignon Blanc variety in Marlborough, New Zealand.

The grapes are picked from selected vineyards in the Brancott Valley and the expanses in Wairau (Woodbourne, Renwick and Rapaura).
During fermentation, wild (residual) yeasts are allowed to act undisturbed in small, old, oak barrels.

The result is a wine of stunning intensity on the nose, aromas of fruits (pineapple, grapefruit, peach) flowers and stone overtones.

Rich mouthfeel, dominated by fruit fragrances, tones of oak, very pleasant acidity, lengthy finish and 13.5% alcohol.
