Domaine Serge Dagueneau, Pouilly-Fume, Clos Des Chaudoux, 2011

By in Wines with 0 Comments

A distinctive sauvignon blanc, from a fascinating family!

Since 1889, from their great grandmother Leotine in Serge, the Dagueneau family have been making wines with finesse and respect for its region and its unique terroir.

Dry white wine.

From a Sauvignon Blanc variety in Pouilly-Fume, Loire

The grapes are hand harvested, matured on fine lees and the wine is bottled unfiltered.

The nose is dominated by exotic fruits (mangoes, leeches, passion fruit) and citrus fruit. Complemented by flowery scents (white flowers, juniper). A lingering smoky finish.

Rich on the palate, with acidity, metality (flint), fine fragrances of fruits (dried, caramelized, exotic), toastiness and fine (13%) alcohol.
