Gastronomads’ Maiden Voyage

By in Blog with 0 Comments

The first Gastronomads trip took place on 7th December.

It was a test event that is why it was no coincidence that we chose a destination to the centre of the world of wine, France.

But in order to put a distinctive mark on the club from the very start, we did not opt for the well known France (Bordeaux ή Bourgogne) but for the alternative, less known part of the country. Thus, we ‘visited’ the Loire valley, Rousillion and South Rhone with 4 excellent wines: Gratien & Meyer Cuvee Flamme NV, Domaine Serge Dagueneau Pouilly-Fume Clos Des Chaudoux 2011, Domaine Matassa Calce Cuvee Romanissa Rouge 2010, Ogier Chateauneuf-Du-Pape Heritages 2011

A big thank you!

While looking for a venue to host our first trip, we met quite a few people who, upon hearing what we wanted to do, looked at us as if we had come from another planet or were raving mad. Very few of them, including Lila Karapostoli, understood, though with a bit of disbelief, what we wanted. We thank her very much for her great hospitality in the wonderful place of the Cookery Club ‘Cookery Lessons’ and a big thank you as well to Chef Nikos Makrimichalos for his invaluable help.

A unique fellow traveller!

On this maiden voyage of ours, Despina from το www.pandespani.com, apart from being excellent company, was an useful adviser and wonderful supporter of the club, and chef to one of the dishes of the evening. We thank her from the bottom of our hearts!!!
